Thanks for your interest is Hat Shapers...  We get allot of questions from professional milliners, and the following should answer most of them:

We are always concerned that Hat Shapers generally will not meet the exacting requirements of professional hat makers. Our Hat Shapers  were designed specifically for crafters as inexpensive resists for wet felting of carded wool. They are 90 mil ABS plastic, thermoformed over hand carved molds in non-standard sizes. As you might expect, Hat Shapers will not take the extreme heat of Milliners Ovens. 

Unfortunately, Hat Shapers were not designed for use with pre-formed hoods or capelines.  They don't take pins and they don't generally have tie-down grooves.  They also have flange-like brim bases, so "pulling" is more difficult without modifications. 

Nevertheless, many professional milliners have found uses for Hat Shapers, generally for non precision costuming.
